Local Origination

What is Local Origination?

The Glasgow EPB's Local Origination is just that - "locally originated" programming. In other words, it's programming that we come up with ourselves. The idea is not new, but it wasn't seen in Glasgow until the EPB started providing cable TV and, along with it, many more services.

For local origination, we go out and tape various events to be replayed. Sometimes, people bring us events they have taped themselves. Events have included:

- Local Sporting Events (Little League, etc.)
- Awards Ceremonies
- Barren Fiscal Court Meetings
- City Council Meetings
- Cheerleading and Martial Arts Competitions
- Band Concerts and Competitions
- Plays and Other School Presentations
- Highlights of the Highland Games
- Various Church Services
- School Graduations and Awards Ceremonies
- Glasgow's Christmas Parade and Other Holiday Events

Local events are replayed on EPB Cable 6. To find out what's replayed, check Cable 6 or even the crawl on the Weather Channel. The EPB has an extensive library of events from the last several years and they're all for sale on your choice of VHS or DVD. Call us at 651-8341!

You can also see "The Talk on the Street," a monthly show on topics of local interest, hosted by local journalist Ronnie Ellis.
