| Work continues on the latest addition to the hospital. According to the community hospital's Mark Edwards, the first floor of the new wing will contain Outpatient, In-patient Admitting and a new ER with 18 rooms (current ER has 8). The 2nd floor will have 20 private stepdown rooms and the 3rd floor will host OB with 14 private rooms. The 4th floor will host the Lab and a Residents'-on-call sleeping room. Other areas will include a new business office, Cardiology and Recovery. The new construction has been planned so that three more stories could be added in the future. The current facility is about 200,000 square feet. The new wing will bring the hospital's total to about 321,000 sq. ft! |

Wayne built the working display model seen in the photo. In addition to being a model of how electrical distribution works, it also shows the dangerous effects of high voltage. Notice the smoke? The arrow is pointing to a hot dog being zapped with 480 volts! |
