Ranger Richard Howell of Glasgow speaks to his tour group through a morning fog.Mammoth Cave NP Receives Kodak GrantSuperintendent Ronald Switzer announced today that Mammoth Cave National Park has received $2,200 worth of photographic equipment from Kodak through the National Park Foundation as part of the "Proud Partners of America’s National Parks" program. The equipment will be used to update the park's interpretive slide and digital image collection. Mike Adams, Mammoth Cave's Chief Interpreter, says, “Through pictures, we can share the cave, rivers, and trails with people who aren’t able to travel. | The Glasgow Water Company continues its important work on South Green St. Joe Austin of the Water Co. says that the old water line was getting rusty and brittle (allowing leaks to develop). The new line will be 8 inches in diameter (much larger than the older line). This will take care of the "rusty water" problem and it will improve the flow of water for the Fire Dept. in case of a fire in this part of town. Also, South Green is scheduled to be blacktopped soon and they want to get all their work done before the repaving. |

At Barren County's new elementary school, work appears to be going very well, even though this backhoe struggled to release itself from the mud (the operator was winning the battle as this photo was taken). |

| Here's what the tee-off at Saturday's 7th Annual James W. Barton Memorial Golf Tournament looked like at about 7:30am. Twenty-four four-person teams competed, raising money for local Kiwanis projects to benefit the kids of our area. From all appearances, everybody had a great time. |

| Ricky "Muddman" Mudd got us some pictures from Happy Valley yesterday. They held their awards ceremony at 9:00am (see the replays on EPB cable TV - check Ch. 11 for times). Shown above are (l to r) are: Sherry Furlong, 4th grade teacher, Jeff Foster, principal, Geraldine Pedigo, school secretary and Bobby Pardue, custodian. They were honored with gifts and special songs. After their awards were presented, Mr. Foster said, "Boys and girls, let's raise the roof, please!" Everyone did. Most of the remainder of the day was spent with lunch outside and various games, such as the sack race (also pictured). Jeff Foster was also this week's "Hometown Hero" on local ABC affiliate WBKO. |

| Notice a dimming of your lights yesterday (Tuesday) morning at 11:30? Terry Catt, the EPB's Operations Manager, got some photos of the cause. Some of the Amish were cutting a tree that fell into one of the EPB's transmission lines in the vicinity of Red Cross Elem. out Hwy. 1297. Some customers on that particular circuit actually got a blink, while the rest of Glasgow saw a voltage dip for a moment. Terry reports that the Amish there, "...saw a lot of fire! They don't plan on cutting any more trees anytime soon." |
